Welcome to the "baby strokes" web site. Victoria Meeking is a Mother of 3 and a Grandmother of 1. She has worked in the medical field for the past 27 years and has always had a special interest in babies. She is a certified Infant Massage Instructor with IMIS (Infant Massage Information Service). She is available to teach baby massage to Mums, Dads, Grandparents or carers, either as private sessions or in a group class. I am located in Perth, Western Australia.

The IMIS method of infant massage incorporates a well balanced combination of Indian and Swedish massage strokes as well as Reflexology.

Infant massage is so much more than gentle feel good strokes. It can provide nurturing to your baby, emotionally, physically and mentally as well as being beneficial in many other ways.

Massage is ideally introduced from birth but can be commenced at any time and can be adapted for use with children of any age. It is never too late to start learning how to massage your baby or child. Babies and children who receive regular massage are more likely to have a stronger bond with their parents and usually develop a better relationship with others. It is a great ongoing experience for babies as well as Mums, Dads, Grandparents and carers alike.

When infant massage instruction is taught privately in your own home, this is usually carried out over a 2 week period, with each session lasting for approximately 1.5 hour. If you are learning in a group class, this involves 1 hour sessions over a 4 weeks period. Each week you will be taught massage techniques in stages so that you can practice them at home and then if you have any questions, they can be discussed at your next session, whether this is privately or in a class.

A One hour Introductory Lesson is also available as an alternative, should you wish to learn the basics of infant massage only. This can be taught privately or in a group class. The Introductory Lesson can be ideal to refresh your memory, if you have learnt infant massage in the past perhaps with a previous baby.
